Method 1: Using Group Policy (For Pro or higher versions)
- Press Win + R, type gpedit.msc, and press Enter.
Navigate to Computer
Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > Removable
Storage Access.
- Double-click on All Removable Storage classes: Deny
all access.
- Set it to Enabled, then click Apply and OK.
This will block USB drives from
being used.
Method
2: Using Device Manager
- Right-click on the Start button and select Device
Manager.
- Expand Universal Serial Bus Controllers.
- Right-click on each USB Root Hub and select Disable
device.
This will disable USB devices, but
it might also affect other USB peripherals like a keyboard or mouse.
Method
3: Using the Registry Editor
- Press Win + R, type regedit, and press Enter.
- Go to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\USBSTOR
- Double-click on Start, change the value from 3
to 4, and click OK.
This will stop USB flash drives from
working.
